Love This Dulera Commercial Soundtrack

Have you seen the commercial for the asthma medicine Dulera lately? If you have, you’re no doubt intrigued. Gentle breezes, jungle animals, ocean views…AND THAT MUSIC!
The gentle piano riff that transports you right in the middle of tropical paradise. (Only to be shook back into reality by Guy Fieri on another episode of “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives”)

Who crafted such beautiful music?

The only video that exists online of this elusive commercial is this raw footage someone captured and put on Youtube.

Phish on CNN’s Worldbeat in 1999

Alexander Graham Bell’s Early Voice Recordings

The National Museum of American History just posted some incredible videos as a Youtube playlist.

They’ve managed to come across late 1800′s recordings from Alexander Graham Bell’s Washington D.C. Volta Laboratory.

The records were too fragile to simply play on a turntable and instead advanced imaging was used to detect the sounds. You’re about to hear some of the earliest human recorded voice ever!

Definitly check out the entire playlist here:

Someone Else’s 90′s Slam Dunk Montage

In the 90s, if you were a kid and had the family video camera at your disposable, you put it to incredible use.
I filmed everything from myself skateboarding to throwing GI-JOE’s on a string out the window.
Oh, and what kid didn’t love being able to palm and slam dunk a basketball? Albeit, the ball was 1/2 the size and the hoop was usually attached via suction cups, but come on! We were emulating the best.

Well, thanks to Youtube user srt317‘s brother…you can re-live someone else in that time.

Watch this hilarious trip down 90′s memory lane:

Incredible Time-Lapse Video of the Night Sky

Wired posted some awesome time-lapse videos of the night sky today.

These are remarkably beautiful and yet sort of bone-chilling at the same time (Especially this one by Randy Halverson on Vimeo)

Amazing to think that this happens right above us but goes by mostly unnoticed…

Mind Blowing Gyroscopic Pool Table

What you just watched, is THE FIRST self-leveling pool table at sea.
It lives aboard the Royal Carribean’s “Raddiance of the Seas” cruise liner.

It works via an internal gyroscope that keeps the table horizontal…that and pure magic.

Goths Dancing Outdoors

Buzzfeed posted this great list today of 25 Videos of Goths Dancing During the Daytime.

It’s 110% worthy of your viewing, so go check it out now.

If you don’t you’ll be missing hilarious gems like the one below:

“Osombie” Is For Real

Just when I thought It was going to be a lame year for movies they go and release this…
…AND TOTALLY REDEEM MOVIES!

A real, actual, seriously-happening-in-this-reality, movie is being made about the zombie of Osama Bin Laden coming back.
It’s currently in post-production and stars…absolutely no one you’ve ever heard of.

Osombie on IMDB – http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2141875/

The trailer looks…oh just watch it…

Animal Collective Nostalgia “Lion In A Coma”

Heard “My Girls” on WFUV the other day.
Got me going back through their other stuff.

“Lion In A Coma” is currently what I’m jamming too.

This video for it was put together by artist Ori Toor and you should watch it…NOW!

A final project made by Ori Toor at the Shenkar School of Engineering and Design – Illustration department.
A stream of consciousness animation for the song “Lion in a Coma” by Animal collective (taken from the awesome “Merriweather Post Pavilion” album released by domino records).
Frame by frame animation in flash. No script, no planning ahead.

Fresh Times At Walmart High

Jen and I were picking up the bare essentials from Wal-Mart last night when we passed by this bin of goodness:

(click for full-size hilarity)

Do you remember your non-hemorrhoidal era? “Boy, those were some fresh times.”

p.s. – look at and say the word “Walmart” 10-20 times. Looks and sounds very bizarre after a while.

Bros vs. Hipsters

This epic video from Michigan comedian Pat Stansik attempts to settle the great question of a generation…
CAN ONE BE A BRO…AND A HIPSTER?

“He’s either a bro or a hipster, he can’t be both. Because that’s not how stereotypes work.”
