OWS May Day 2012 March
I was leaving my office in lower Manhattan on Tuesday, May 1st, 2012. The faint sound of drums could be heard in the distance. I recalled reading ‘May Day‘ 2012 was the planned day of re-emergence for the Occupy Wall Street movement.
Captured this video as they came down Broadway between Vesey and Fulton.
(Sorry about the weird jaggy static…YouTube edited the video to automatically remove some of the shaking from the original video. It’s worth it.)
6 Year Old Is Now Forever Embarrassed
I understand the issue, but who decided to make this a top story on the local news?
Caine’s Arcade is the Greatest Internet Story Ever Told
An awesome story about a boy and his homegrown arcade.

I present you…”JJ in Traffic”
I recently realized my sunroof, when open, has a perfect slot for an iPhone. So I propped it up and took it for a test. I’d say it was successful barring the fact that all the roads were shutdown for the St. Pats parade. So you get me…in traffic. Will try this a lot more soon.
Camp Tebow and Tim Bisco
What’s the worse news today?
The New York Jets pickup Tim Tebow
- or -
The lineup for this years Camp Bisco
(Didn’t they, well, “jam” at some point?)
Bret Victor’s Brief (and awesome/important) Rant on the Future
I came across this “rant” browsing the comments in #tuaw waiting for the iPad 3 announcement at 10AM PT (1pm my time…)
It was written by Ex-Apple Designer Bret Victor on November 8, 2011. I’m a little late to the party, but it’s still an excellent point from someone who certainly has helped shape design today.

Very cool…I reccomend checking out his homepage too as it…is…awesome.
Jean Claude Van Damme’s Inspirational YouTube Video For Watching
Can’t tell if Jean Claude Van Damme is actually strong or just mocking former self…but it’s moving either way.
In May or June of this year he has an actual kickboxing fight vs. Kamsing.
PUSH IT TO THE LIMIT
Love This Dulera Commercial Soundtrack
Have you seen the commercial for the asthma medicine Dulera lately? If you have, you’re no doubt intrigued. Gentle breezes, jungle animals, ocean views…AND THAT MUSIC!
The gentle piano riff that transports you right in the middle of tropical paradise. (Only to be shook back into reality by Guy Fieri on another episode of “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives”)
Who crafted such beautiful music?
The only video that exists online of this elusive commercial is this raw footage someone captured and put on Youtube.
Alexander Graham Bell’s Early Voice Recordings
The National Museum of American History just posted some incredible videos as a Youtube playlist.
They’ve managed to come across late 1800′s recordings from Alexander Graham Bell’s Washington D.C. Volta Laboratory.
The records were too fragile to simply play on a turntable and instead advanced imaging was used to detect the sounds. You’re about to hear some of the earliest human recorded voice ever!
Definitly check out the entire playlist here:
